Girls Rock Jacksonville is a week long day camp for girls ages 9-16. Campers learn an instrument, form a band and write a song which they perform at a showcase the Saturday following camp. In addition, the girls will participate in workshops centered around DIY creativity, Songwriting, Image & Identity and more, all designed to encourage and empower them to be the rock stars that they are!
GRJ’s first annual program was held July 30th-August 3rd, 2012 at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, with the final showcase on Saturday, August 4th at the Florida Theatre.
It was a huge success! We had 29 campers, 40 volunteers and about 200 people came to the showcase!
Registration will again be open in Spring 2013.
GRJ values diversity and encourages girls from all backgrounds to apply for camp. Financial aid is available and no music experience is necessary!
